In The Beginning......

Growing up my parents bred and showed harlequin Great Danes and Old English Sheepdogs. My second birthday party had the guests taking turns delivering puppies. A litter of 14! I remember being swallowed by a sea of OES puppies. In junior high school we brought home two Old English Sheepdogs to show. I showed and groomed both dogs to their championships. I also competed in junior handling. I travelled to shows across Canada and the United States. I loved dog shows and thought it was pretty special to travel and do things with my best buddies, Luna and Merlin.
The Middle Bits....

After high school I could not afford to show anymore. So I had rescues: Ren, a staffordshire bull terrier, and Stimpy, a border collie samoyed cross.
Stimpy was my best buddy. He was also an orthopaedic nightmare. His joints were so bad that I thought I would have to put him down at 2 years of age. I believe this was partly caused by his paediatric neuter and poor breeding. But thanks to supplements he lived comfortably until he was 13. He was the smartest dog I have ever known. He had an amazing temperament and everyone who met him fell instantly in love with him. The patience of a saint. But because of his health I vowed to have pets with good breeding and health tested parents. It was too sad to watch this great guy start life with a disadvantage right off.

Where We Are Now.....

After Phoenix came into my life I was hooked on poodles. I am passionate about the breed. I was so taken by their personality and brains. They are very strong and athletic. Plus, they are beautiful and elegant. I love that they can look poofy and untouchable in the show ring but are the first ones in the mud, ready to wrestle and go hiking.
I am looking for good conformation in my future breedings, not just in the show ring but for life. I want all my pups to live long, pain free lives with sound bodies to enable them to take on any challenge. Temperament is very important to me. Calm, steady dogs with a drive to please, without aggression or fear is really important. Health testing is essential for my breeding dogs. I don't want to bring any more dogs into this world with genetic health issues that could have been avoided. Testing is not a guarantee of perfect health, but I will do everything I can to give them the best chance at good health and a happy long life.
I aim to be a really good hobby breeder. Showing and breeding poodles is a hobby for me. I work full time as a Primary Care Paramedic with EMS here in Calgary. I want to ensure I am doing everything properly. I will breed beautiful, correct dogs and prove that by showing them to their championship. They will have brains and nice temperaments and I will prove that with obedience titles. I will follow the breed standard as close as possible. My dogs live with me and are pets and family members. They sleep in my room and are spoiled. Their hobby is being a show dog. I am a member of the CKC, The Poodle Club of Canada and the Poodle Club of Alberta. I believe in their code of conduct and live by that example. No cross breeding, no breeding before they are mature, honesty with puppy buyers and integrity in what I do
